The South Bend Transportation Club, Inc. Scholarship Award 2009-2010 Application Instructions |
|
The South Bend Transportation Club, Inc. Scholarship is awarded to a student whom the judges feel provided the most interesting answer to the essay question. Unlike many other scholarships, we don't want to discriminate based on your GPA, writing skill, involvement in community or service organizations, or other criteria to which many students just don't measure up. We don't ask the traditional scholarship type questions because we want our applicants and our judges to have fun. We want to make you think. We want to make you evaluate yourself. We want to see how creative you are. We are looking at the overall answer to the essay, not necessarily the quality of writing style. (As a college student or potential college student our judges expect you to use correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, and upper/lower case.) Your answer should be fun and interesting. Make our judges want to read to answer. Part of the challenge is conveying your story within the indicated word limit. Do not repeat the question in your answer; just answer the essay topic as if a close friend had asked the question. NOTE: YOUR ESSAY SHOULD BE TYPED AND MAILED WITH THE SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION PAGE. |
