"Get to know your club member"

Every month, SBTC would like to profile a member of our club. This is a great way to really get to know someone. The Board of Directors will send a form monthly to some lucky person we want to know better. We would appreciate you filling the form out and sending back.

Introducing this month

Kristina Harshberger

is the Customer Service Manager at Anco Products in Elkhart, IN. She is starting her 11th year in April.

Kristina's business card says she is the customer service manager, but is also in charge of the warehouse, logistics, and dabbles in purchasing, inside sales, etc.

Her first job was as a car hop at Lutz's Drive-In in Dowagiac, MI. Other than that, she has worked for Anco Products, Inc. since she was 20 years old, starting as the book keeper and advancing as the opportunities presented themselves.

She lives in Edwardsburg, MI along with her husband Bill for 6 1/2 years. They have a son Braydon who is 9 years old and a 3rd grader at Eagle Lake Elementary. And who can forget their fur baby (fawn Pug) named Franklin who is 2 years old.

Looks like Matthew did a shout out for the Big 10 - did everyone see these on the air?

I just want to share part of an e-mail that my brother sent us. I could not be more proud. I am glad he had the opportunity to turn something that was so hard on him into something that will potentially help others. He comes home in just a few days!.

Well on to other things, I have been busy as hell lately, we are trying
to get our shop ready for turnover which is not fun, everybody is ready
to get out of here so we are getting pulled in a million directions
lately. I’m not sure if you guys knew this or not but last august one of
my friends was killed in an MRAP rollover when they were coming back
from taji just north of Baghdad. He was the driver of the MRAP and
drowned when it rolled into a canal. I was given a task to try and
implement a device into the MRAPS called the heeds bottle. Heeds
bottles have been around for a long time and they use them in the helos
for crashes in water and thick smoke to give pilots 2-5 min to get out
of the helo. These bottles have the potential to give crews the 2-5 min
to get out of there flack and out of the vehicle. My job was to create
a design that they can use to mount these in the vehicle, one for each
person in the vic so they can reach it in an emergency. My design was
picked out of the other 4 ideas other people have come up with and is
now in the SOP for all marines leaving the wire in my battalion. So
far I have fabricated brackets for over 60 MRAPS which is around 400
and they are writing up a beneficial suggestion to the DOD on it. I was excited to take on this
project since it kind of hit close to home to me knowing this could
possibly save another friends life. Well thats really all I have been
up to this last month, been working in the shop quite a bit and haven’t
left the wire for over a month, kind of boring but I’m ready to get out
of here. I will be going out to habbiniyah in a few days to do a meet
and greet with some of the locals and visit with some local kids, were
trying to get out there and build them a soccer field and play with
them for a day.
