2007 SBTC Scholarship

We believe a big part of supporting our community is developing the leaders of tomorrow.


SBTC, a not for profit organization, has raised money through several fund raisers to award a $500.00 scholarship to an area student to help defray college expenses. An essay was required by the applicants to the following questions:

"Today material is moved primary by motor vechicle, rail, plane, ship, and barge, but also by animal, slurry, pipeline and sometime by rocket. What is your vision for material movement by the year 2057?


The receipent of the award was voted the SBTC Board of Directors.

We would like to thank all the participates in their submittal of essays. We learned that all of you have very innovative and creative ideas. We wish you all good fortune in your studies and schooling.

Kyle Shirk, is the son of club member Wayne Shirk, will be a freshman attending Indiana University of Bloomington. He will be majoring in Business management. Kyle's interest includes tennis, baseball, and enjoys golf. His goals is to open and own a business someday. Kyle said "I would really like to thank both of my parents for always being there through it all and for always supporting me in any decision in which I have made throughout the years. Thank You".

We hope through future support that we may continue to offer a Scholarship next year.
